Locality: United States, Minnesota, Beltrami, Red Lake Wildlife Mgmt Area. 1/4 mile west of MN Trunk Hwy 72; 0.13 mile south of Lake of the Woods Co. line; 13.75 miles north-northwest of Waskish.

Habitat: Common in open rich peatland north of raised bog. Betula pumila common but occasional areas that are more open with lots of Iris. Sphagnum mostly on raised hummocks with Betula.
Notes: Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, Calamogrostis stricta, Carex chordorrhiza, Betula pumila, Iris versicolor, Solidago uliginosa, Symphyotrichum boreale, Thelypteris paulstris, Rubus arcticus, Vaccinium oxycoccos.
