Locality: United States, Minnesota, Koochiching, Myrtle Lake Peatland Scientific and Natural Area. 13.5 miles east of MN Trunk Hwy 6; 20 miles southeast of Big Falls.

Habitat: Rare on small rock outcrop in the middle of large peatland complex. Collected in a mostly open area with scattered Abies balsamea, Betula papyrifera, Thuja occidentalis. Very mossy, mostly Hylocomium splendens and Dicranum spp., with abundant Cladina lichens.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex backii, Gymnocarpium dryopteris, Maianthemum canadense, Spinulum annotinum, Chamaenerion angustifolium, Cornus canadensis, Lycopodium clavatum, Trientalis borealis, Cypripedium acaule, Juniperus communis.
