Locality:
United States, Minnesota, Beltrami, Wolf Trail Wildlife Mgmt. Area. 0.35 miles north of Beltrami Co Road 710; 8.4 miles southeast of Grygla.

Habitat:
Common locally in open prairie rich fen. Areas of Salix and Dasiphora common. C. capillaris mostly under shade of these shrubs on subtle rises that are drier than surrounding soil.
Notes:
Associates include Carex granularis, Symphyotrichum umbellatum, Rubus arcticus, Solidago uliginosa, Salix petiolaris, Carex leptalea, Trichophorum cespitosum.
