Near shoreline of lower Red Lake on Ponemah Point. Several clumps on upper slope of old ice push ridge. Canopy of Celtis occidentalis with Populus grandidentata and Tilia americana common.
Soil is sand.
Additional associates include dense Maianthemum stellatum along with Urtica dioica, Rosa acicularis, Viola canadensis, Menispermum canadensis, Prunus virginiana.
