United States, Minnesota, Koochiching, Pine Island State Forest. 3.4 miles south of Lost River Forest Access Rd; 6 miles east of the Koochiching/Beltrami Co. line.

Occasional in large rich, sedge dominated fen adjacent to southern edge of the Lost River (aka: Crack fen) that emerges here. E. elliptica more common along river's edge.
Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, Eleocharis compressa, Care livida, Carex leptalea, Lobelia kalmii, Menyanthes trifoliata, Betula pumila, Andromeda polifolia, Utricularia intermedia.
