Habitat: Occasional in open, prairie rich fen with patches of willow shrubs common. Subtle rises, where this was collected, have much higher diversity than surrounding shallow peat.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex tetanica, Dasiphora fruticosa, Rubus arcticus, Salix petiolaris, Eriophorum angustifolium, Calamagrostis stricta, Carex cryptolepis, C. buxbaumii, Symphyotrichum boreale, Fragaria virginiana, Trichophorum cespitosum.
