Locality: United States, Minnesota, Beltrami, Red Lake Nation. 0.50 miles southwest of Red Lake Reservation Rd. 18; approx 100 meters from the shore of lower Red Lake; 3.5 miles northwest of Ponemah.

Habitat: Common near bottom (east side) of steep slope near shore of upper Red Lake. An atypical forest for this area dominated by Celtis occidentalis and other uncommon rich mesic forbs.
Notes: Other associates include Tilia americana, Elymus canadensis, Hydrophyllum virginiana, Sanguinaria canadensis, Maianthemum racemosa, Laportea canadensis, Trillium cernuum, Matteuccia struthiopteris, Maianthemum stellatum, Dicentra cucullaria.
