Common in larger opening near center of rock outcrop within larger peatland complex. Large Thuja occidentalis and rare Pinus strobus. Lichens abundant.
Associates include Corydalis sempervirens, Vaccinium myrtilloides, Aralia nudicaulis, Polypodium virginianum, Linnaea borealis, Sambucus racemosa, Chimaphila umbellata, Carex merritt-fernaldii.
