Habitat: Common in larger opening near center of rock outcrop within larger peatland complex. Large Thuja occidentalis and rare Pinus strobus. Lichens abundant.
Associated Species: Associates include Corydalis sempervirens, Vaccinium myrtilloides, Aralia nudicaulis, Polypodium virginianum, Linnaea borealis, Sambucus racemosa, Chimaphila umbellata, Carex merritt-fernaldii.
