Habitat:
Common. Approx. 20 meters from the north banks of the North Branch of the Rapid River in terrace-floodplain forest dominated by Fraxinus nigra with occasional Populus tremuloides and Acer saccharum. Fairly dry here, but small ephemeral channels throughout.

Additional associates include Matteuccia struthiopteris, Anemone canadensis, Onoclea sensibilis, Carex vaginata, Carex stipata, Lysimachia ciliatus, Laportea canadensis, Carex echinodes.
