Habitat: Occasional in recently cutover wet-mesic Abies balsamea-Thuja occidentalis-Betula papyrifera forest.
Substrate: Soils are sand with a high water table with occasional low mucky spots.
Associated Species: Associates include Aralia hispida, Geranium bicknellii, Carex houghtoniana, Carex tonsa.
