Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Lake of the Woods State Forest. 0.32 miles north of Lake of the Woods County road 146; 15 miles southwest of Baudette.

Habitat: Common. Approx. 20 meters from the north banks of the North Branch of the Rapid River in terrace-floodplain forest dominated by Fraxinus nigra with occasional Populus tremuloides and Acer saccharum. Fairly dry here, but small ephemeral channels throughout.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Matteuccia struthiopteris, Anemone canadensis, Onoclea sensibilis, Carex vaginata, Carex stipata, Lysimachia ciliatus, Laportea canadensis, Carex radiata.
