Habitat: Nearly flat floodplain of creek, subjected to flash floods, not marshy. Probably formerly pastured
Associated Species: Salix exigua, Salix nigra, Acer negundo, Heracleum lanatum, Silphium perfoliatum
Description: Shrub, with several arching stems in tight clump, the stems unarmed when large, 2.8 cm. in diameter, 7 years old. Fruit green.
