Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; On the shores of Knife Lake in rugged bedrock terrain along the Canadian border, 31 miles east-northeast of Ely.

Elevation: 433 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 1420 feet
Habitat: Local, infrequent and sporadic on low mafic cliffs (Knife Lake meta-volcanic rock) on lower to mid portions of steep 150-foot slope at Thunder Point. Several small patches encountered mostly on more or less vertical faces that vary from 2-20 feet high; also on mossy talus. Dry-mesic to mesic, shaded settings. Patchy canopy of Pinus strobus, P. resinosa, and Betula papyrifera.
Associated Species: Associates include Woodsia ilvensis, Polypodium virginianum, Dryopteris fragrans.
