Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Strongly rolling bedrock terrain between Horse and Jackfish Lakes, 16 miles north-northeast of Ely, on the west side of Section 16 Lake.

Verbatim Elevation: 1370 feet
Habitat: Local in an old clearing (site of old logging camp). Forming loose patches in somewhat moister settings near the lake. Rocky silty-sand substrate. Full sun. Also in beaver meadow along the outlet stream not far from the northwest shore of the lake.
Associated Species: Associates include Calamagrostis canadensis, Persicaria sagittata, Epilobium angustifolium, Athyrium angustum, Solidago canadensis, Mentha arvensis, Cirsium arvense, Rubus strigosus, Corylus cornuta.
