Locality: United States, Minnesota, Benton, Gently-rolling outwash plain east of the Mississippi River and south of Little Rock Lake, 4.5 miles southeast of Rice, 5 miles north-northeast of Sartell.

Habitat: Sporadic, uncommon to frequent in sand prairie / oak savanna remnant on stabilized dunes. Full sun to partial shade of Quercus macrocarpa and Juniperus virginiana. Tan sand. Level to gently-sloping settings (mostly south- and west-facing aspects).
Associated Species: Associates include Carex siccata, Schizachrium scoparium, Stipa spartea, Poa pratensis, Koeleria macrantha, Bouteloua hirsuta, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Geum triflorum, Anemone patens, Tradescantia bracteata, Rumex acetosella, Artemisia frigida, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Selaginella rupestris.
