Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Strongly rolling bedrock terrain south of Basswood Lake, 12 miles northeast of Ely. Occasional along Good Creek between Good Lake and Hoist Bay.

Elevation: 398 meters Verbatim Elevation: 1305 feet

Habitat: Narrow strip of ash swamp dominated by Fraxinus nigra. Scattered Alnus incana in tall understory. Ground layer dominated by Carex lacustris. Mostly in narrow zone near the upland margin; often in or near shallow depressions that hold water longer than the adjacent ground. Dark organic silt with a thin peaty cap.

Associated Taxa: Additional associates include Carex tuckermanii, C. retrorsa, Calamagrostis canadensis, Lysimachia terrestris, Rumex orbiculatus, Thelypteris palustris.
