Habitat:
Small dense patch in very shallow, rocky, silty-detrital soil over bedrock (Knife Lake metasedimentary rock). Growing with mosses in sunny, dry, sparsely-vegetated setting atop a .05-acre islet that rises no more than ~3 feet above the lake at its highest point.
