Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Strongly rolling bedrock terrain north of the Fernberg Road, 14 miles east-northeast of Ely, just north of Wood Lake.

Verbatim Elevation: 1350 feet
Habitat: Local along the margin of an old beaver meadow in a basin. Loose patches in a narrow ecotonal zone between an Alnus incana-fringed upland and a wet Calamagrostis canadensis - Carex lacustris meadow. Several hundred plants along ~100 yards. Dam breached prior to 1991, lowering the water level ~2-3 feet. Wet-mesic, silty-organic soil. Full sun to partial shade.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex stricta, Calamagrostis canadensis, Eupatorium maculatum, Campanula aparinoides, Cirsium arvense, Botrychium multifidum, Rubus strigosus, Spiraea alba.
