Habitat: Local, sporadic, occasional to common in poor fen bordering the southwest bay of Hula Lake. Nearly continuous carpets of Sphagnum mosses. Deep, quaky, saturated peat. Mostly in full sun (to partial shade of widely-scattered, stunted Larix laricina and Picea mariana). Forming small to rather large loose patches.
Associated Species: Associates include Eriophorum virginicum, Carex limosa, Smilacina trifolia, Drosera rotundifolia, D. intermedia, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Myrica gale.
