United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; On the south shore of Basswood Lake, 12 miles northeast of Ely. Locally common just west of the mouth of Good Creek, at the Hoist Bay log landing site at the northeast end of Four Mile Portage.

Forming dense patches in moist gravel and small cobbles 1-3 feet above the water line. Full sun to partial shade of large Pinus resinosa. Pale blue flowers.
Associates include Lycopus uniflorus, Lysimachia terrestris, Sium suave, Myrica gale.
