Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Rugged terrain along the Canadian border, 26 miles east-northeast of Ely, in the southeastern end of Carp Lake, near the portage to Melon Lake.

Verbatim Elevation: 1355 feet
Habitat: Local near the shore. Small and loose to large and dense patches in shallow water (~1-3 feet deep) along the shoreline. Hundreds of plants here. Rooted in a layer of fairly firm silty organic muck (up to 12 inches deep) over fine sand.
Associated Species: Associates include Schoenoplectus acutus, Juncus pelocarpus, Equisetum fluviatile, Littorella uniflora.
