Rare and local on the lakeshore. Loose to fairly dense patch in a small cove. In water less than 3 feet deep. Rooted in coarse gravelly sand amongst cobbles and small boulders. Full sun.
Associates include Equisetum fluviatile, Dulichium arundinaceum.
