Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Rugged bedrock terrain along the Canadian border, 32 miles east-northeast of Ely. Local in the South Arm of Knife Lake, just west of the portage to Bonnie Lake and just southeast of Thunder Point.

Habitat: Small loose patch of ~dozen plants in very clear water ~8-10 feet deep. Rooted amongst cobbles and boulders.
Associated Species: No associates here, and no other aquatic plants encountered in the nearby vicinity.
