Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Rugged bedrock terrain between Ensign and Knife Lakes, 27 miles east-northeast of Ely.

Habitat: Local and somewhat sporadic, forming dense patches in small sheltered bay in the eastern portion of Vera Lake. Plants entirely submerged, in clear water ~16 inches deep. Silty-organic substrate >3 feet deep, with frequent buried wood from an old beaver lodge.
Associated Species: Associates include Sagittaria rigida, Potamogeton gramineus, P. robbinsii, Najas flexilis, Bidens beckii, Nymphaea tuberosa.
