Infrequent in poor sedge fen on the boggy shores of Webfoot Lake. Sporadic in a narrow zone near the water's edge (mostly within a few feet of lake). Quaking saturated peat with continuous Sphagnum carpets. Full sun.
Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. utriculata, Eriophorum virginicum, Dulichium arundinaceum, Rhynchospora alba, Andromeda glaucophylla, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Vaccinium macrocarpon, Iris versicolor, Triadenum fraseri, Potentilla palustris.
