Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Fairly rugged bedrock east of Jackfish Lake, 17 miles north-northeast of Ely, along a drainage southwest of Circle Lake.

Verbatim Elevation: 1310 feet
Habitat: Uncommon and very local. Small infestation occurs on Picea mariana on the margin of a poor fen, and in the adjacent bedrock (granitic) woodland on a very steep northwest-facing slope above the wetland. A few dozen infected trees here, all are Picea mariana.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex trisperma, C. lacustris, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Gaultheria hispidula, Kalmia polifolia, Vaccinium oxycoccus, V. angustifolium, Ledum groenlandicum, Alnus viridis, Lycopodium annotinum.
