Habitat:
Infrequent along a large water track in a patterned rich fen complex. Deep, quaking, saturated peat; mostly on slightly higher areas (strings). Loose to fairly dense clumps, mostly in full sun (to partial shade of stunted Thuja occidentalis and Larix laricina).
Associated Species:
Associates include Trichophorum cespitosum, Carex chordorrhiza, C. lasiocarpa, C. livida, Betula glandulifera, Potentilla fruticosa, Salix pedicellaris, Andromeda glaucophylla, Sarracenia purpurea, Equisetum fluviatile, Parnassia glauca, Aster borealis, Solidago uliginosa, Smilacina trifolia, Galium labradoricum.
