Locality: United States, Minnesota, Clearwater, Very gently rolling sand plain north of the Clearwater River, five miles northeast of Bagley.

Habitat: Occasional to frequent in broad zone of rich shrub fen surrounding a small (~1/2-acre) pond in the middle of a tamarack swamp. Partial shade of stunted Larix laricina and Picea mariana which are moderately dense here. Plants trailing over carpets of Sphagnum mosses (especially Sphagnum fuscum).
Associated Species: Associated vascular plants include Carex lasiocarpa, C. diandra, C. tenuiflora, Eriophorum viridi-carinatum, Sarracenia purpurea, Arethusa bulbosa, Corallorhiza trifida, Menyanthes trifoliata, Andromeda glaucophylla, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Ledum groenlandicum, Betula glandulifera, Lonicera villosa.
