Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Along the Snowbank Hiking Trail in strongly rolling bedrock terrain on the west side of Snowbank Lake, 18 miles east-northeast of Ely.

Verbatim Elevation: 1520 feet
Habitat: Occasional on upper portion of large felsic bedrock outcrop on ridge between Snowbank and Flash Lakes. Small dense clumps in shallow soil over bedrock. Mostly in full sun (canopy trees leveled by 1999 windstorm).
Associated Species: Associates include Dichanthelium xanthophysum, Danthonia spicata, Oryzopsis pungens, Corydalis sempervirens, Melampyrum lineare, Apocynum androsaemifolium, Commandra umbellata, Rhus glabra, Vaccinium angustifolium, Prunus susquehanae, P. pensylvanica, Amelanchier spicata, Diervilla lonicera, Pinus strobus, Quercus rubra.
