Frequent to abundant in poor conifer swamp along the east side of the creek. Deep saturated peat. Continuous carpets of Sphagnum spp. mosses (S. magellanicum, S. angustifolium, etc.). In partial to full shade of patchy to rather dense canopy of Picea mariana. Loose clumps, often forming dense patches. Often the co-dominant ground cover with Ledum groenlandicum and Smilacina trifolia.
