Infrequent and local in poor sedge fen in Hawks Nest Lake; in the eastern portion of this shallow basin which is ~50% open water and ~50% fen. Loose groups of plants in full sun to partial shade of stunted Larix laricina and Picea mariana. Fairly firm saturated peat. Continuous Sphagnum carpets.
Associates include Carex pauciflora, C. lasiocarpa, Drosera rotundifolia, Scheuchzeria palustris, Sarracenia purpurea, Platanthera clavellata, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Kalmia polifolia, Chamaedaphne calyculata.
