Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Rugged bedrock terrain in the White Hills, seven miles north-northeast of Ely.

Habitat: Infrequent and local in poor sedge fen in Hawks Nest Lake; in the eastern portion of this shallow basin which is ~50% open water and ~50% fen. Loose groups of plants in full sun to partial shade of stunted Larix laricina and Picea mariana. Fairly firm saturated peat. Continuous Sphagnum carpets.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex pauciflora, C. lasiocarpa, Drosera rotundifolia, Scheuchzeria palustris, Sarracenia purpurea, Platanthera clavellata, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Kalmia polifolia, Chamaedaphne calyculata.
