United States, Minnesota, Lake, Rugged bedrock terrain in the White Hills, on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, eight miles north-northeast of Ely, on the shore of a small bog lake northeast of Hawks Nest Lake.

Habitat:
Local, occasional. Full sun to partial shade of stunted Picea mariana and Larix laricina. Forms small dense patches in saturated peat within a few inches of the lake; also forms small dense mats in shallow water. Mostly limited to the southern shore of the lake.

Associates include Rhynchospora alba, Dulichium arundinaceum, Carex lasiocarpa, C. limosa, Iris versicolor, Utricularia cornuta, Menyanthes trifoliata, Drosera intermedia, Cicuta bulbifera, Brasenia schreberi, Andromeda glaucophylla, Myrica gale.
