Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; On the shores of Basswood Lake in strongly rolling bedrock terrain 14 miles north-northeast of Ely; in the northeastern end of Jackfish Bay, northwest of Lewis Narrows.

Verbatim Elevation: 1300 feet
Habitat: Local on a low, 1/4-acre, bedrock islet in a sheltered ba. Occasional small clumps on the very gradually sloping south shore of the islet. In a narrow zone behind a band of Myrica gale; 10-20 feet inland and 2-3 feet above the water line (lake is down ~16 inches), at the edge of the early season wave-wash zone. Moist sandy silt. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Agrostis scabra, Fimbristylis autumnalis, Eleocharis elliptica, Hypericum majus.
