Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Rugged bedrock terrain north of the Fernberg Road, near the southwest end of Moose Lake, 15 miles east-southeast of Ely.

Verbatim Elevation: 1500 feet
Habitat: Local on middle ledges of a 30- to 50-foot, south- to southwest-facing, dry basalt (Knife Lake Group) cliff which forms the upper portion of a 160-foot ridge. Partial shade of Populus tremuloides growing below the cliff. Rooted in shallow silty detritus over bedrock, and in crevices, often amongst mosses and lichens. Small patches. A couple dozen many-branched plants here. Yellow flowers.
Associated Species: Associates include Corydalis sempervirens, Woodsia ilvensis, Aquilegia canadensis, Rubus strigosus.
