United States, Minnesota, Lake, Along the shores of Fall Lake on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, in rolling bedrock terrain six miles northeast of Ely; on a small point near the west end of the Fall Lake Campground.

Habitat:
Very local. Dozens of very small clumps in a loose colony ~30-40 feet from the water's edge. Setting is ~24 inches above lake level (down ~24-30 inches from the early season high mark) in a quite broad and very gently sloping shoreline zone. Moist, shallow, organic sand over cobbles. Full sun.

Associates include Dichanthelium acuminatum, Calamagrostis canadensis, Deschampsia cespitosa, Scirpus pedicellatus, S. acutus, Lysimachia terrestris, Euthamia graminifolia, Aster lanceolatus, Salix planifolia.
