Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Along the shores of Fall Lake on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, in rolling bedrock terrain six miles northeast of Ely; on a small point near the west end of the Fall Lake Campground.

Habitat: Very local. Dozens of very small clumps in a loose colony ~30-40 feet from the water's edge. Setting is ~24 inches above lake level (down ~24-30 inches from the early season high mark) in a quite broad and very gently sloping shoreline zone. Moist, shallow, organic sand over cobbles. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Dichanthelium acuminatum, Calamagrostis canadensis, Deschampsia cespitosa, Scirpus pedicellatus, S. acutus, Lysimachia terrestris, Euthamia graminifolia, Aster lanceolatus, Salix planifolia.
