Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; On the northern shore of the eastern portion of Moose Lake, in rugged bedrock terrain 18 miles east-northeast of Ely.

Habitat: Local on dry southeast-facing cliffs composed of mafic metasedimentary rock of the Knife Lake group. Occasional on narrow ledges of the 30- to 100-foot high cliffs. Mostly in full sun.

Associated Taxa: Associates include Woodsia ilvensis, W. oregana, Pellaea glabella, Rubus strigosus, Ribes oxyacanthoides, Conyza canadensis.
