Habitat: Very locally abundant at the base of steep east- (to quite locally south-) facing bluffs. Forming dense patches in a small (~1/4-acre) groundwater seepage zone dominated by Nasturtium officinale. Gently-sloping setting on the river bank, a few feet above river level. Wet sandy substrate, often with a shallow organic cap. Full sun. Yellow flowers.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Veronica catenata, Caltha palustris, Impatiens capensis, Myosotis scirpoides, Phalaris arundinacea.
