Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; On the northern shore of the eastern portion of Moose Lake, in rugged bedrock terrain 18 miles east-northeast of Ely.

Habitat: Local, infrequent in a small ravine between bedrock ridges. Young mesic forest recovering from extensive windthrow (July 4, 1999 storm). Partial sun to full shade beneath dense, young canopy of Abies balsamea and Populus tremuloides, and scattered P. balsamifera and Pinus strobus. Understory of Abies balsamea and Acer spicatum. Scattered plants in moist rocky silt. Level to gently-sloping settings.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex pedunculata, Linnaea borealis, Mitella nuda, Cornus canadensis, Streptopus roseus, Rubus pubescens, R. parviflorus.
