United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Fairly rugged bedrock terrain between the Fernberg Road and Ella Hall Lake, 11 miles northeast of Ely. In a large peatland surrounding Slumber Lake.

Habitat:
Occasional in poor spruce swamp / bog. Parasitic on twigs of somewhat stunted Picea mariana. Several fairly large infestation patches encountered; three east of the lake and one to the west. Typically with dozens or hundreds of individual mistletoe plants on a single tree. Many dead and dying spruces are present in these patches. Deep peat. Continuous Sphagnum carpets.
