Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Fairly rugged bedrock terrain between the Fernberg Road and Ella Hall Lake, 11 miles northeast of Ely.

Verbatim Elevation: 1370 feet
Habitat: Common to abundant locally in a fairly broad rich fen zone near the northwestern shore of Slumber Lake. Forming the dominant cover in fairly large areas. Full sun to partial shade of stunted Picea mariana. Deep, wet, moderately buoyant peat, with carpets of Sphagnum angustifolium.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. limosa, C. rostrata, Rhynchospora alba, Scheuchzeria palustris, Platanthera dilatata, Pogonia ophioglossoides, Calopogon tuberosus, Menyanthes trifoliata, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Andromeda glaucophylla, Myrica gale.
