Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Fairly rugged bedrock terrain between the Fernberg Road and Ella Hall Lake, 11 miles northeast of Ely.

Habitat: Occasional to abundant in broad, rich to poor sedge fen zones on the northern and western shores of Slumber Lake. Forming the dominant cover (dense patches) in small to quite large areas. Mostly in full sun (some in partial shade of stunted Picea mariana). Deep, wet, quaky peat. Often in subtle depressions, sometimes in shallow water. Often in Sphagnum carpets.
Associated Species: Associates include Drosera intermedia, Menyanthes trifoliata, Utricularia cornuta, U. intermedia, Calopogon tuberosus, Xyris montana, Trichophorum alpinum, Carex limosa, C. rostrata.
