Habitat:
Locally abundant in the southwestern end of Mud Lake. Plants entirely submersed in water ~10 feet deep and ~75 yards from shore. Upper portion of tallest plants ~12 inches below the surface here. Also observed in shallower water nearer to shore. Soft, silty-organic bottom.

Associated with Potamogeton richardsonii.
