Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Rolling bedrock terrain northeast of Fall Lake, ten miles northeast of Ely; on the southwestern shore of Ella Hall Lake.

Habitat: Local in shallow water. Loose patch in water 18-36+ inches deep, near the portage to Mud Lake. Soft silty-organic substrate. Inflorescences emergent, everything else is submerged.
Associated Species: Associates include Potamogeton zoosteriformis, P. robbinsii, Nymphaea odorata, Sagittaria latifolia.
