Habitat: Local in poor conifer swamp; in the vicinity of small upland (bedrock) rises. Full sun to partial shade of stunted Picea mariana, and scattered Larix laricina. Sphagnum carpets. Frequent here in a setting that is slightly richer here than the surrounding spruce bog.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex limosa, C. magellanica, C. lasiocarpa, Kalmia polifolia, Andromeda glaucophylla, Ledum groenlandicum, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Betula pumila, Salix pedicellaris, Platanthera clavellata, Equisetum fluviatile, Menyanthes trifoliata, Scheuchzeria palustris.
