Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Large peatland complex between Wind and Basswood Lakes, 18 miles northeast of Ely; on the south side of Acorn Lake.

Habitat: Locally abundant in poor fen on the south side of the lake. Full sun to partial shade of stunted Picea mariana and Larix laricina. Dense patch covering 1-2 acres here. Continuous Sphagnum carpets. Deep saturated peat.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex pauciflora, Scheuchzeria palustris, Sarracenia purpurea, Kalmia polifolia, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Andromeda glaucophylla.
