Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Fairly rugged bedrock terrain south of Basswood Lake, 15 miles northeast of Ely; along a small creek connecting Wind Lake to Wind Bay; where the portage trail crosses the creek.

Habitat: Local in a tiny riparian meadow. Occasional in wet, very rocky, and shallow mucky substrate. Partial shade of Fraxinus nigra and Abies balsamea in the adjacent strip of wet forest.
Associated Species: Associates include Carex stipata, C. pseudocyperus, C. cryptolepis, C. retrorsa, C. bebbii, Juncus brevicaudatus, Agrostis scabra, Glyceria striata, Alopecurus aequalis, Eupatorium rugosum, Lysimachia terrestris, Scutellaria lateriflora, Lycopus americanus, Mimulus ringens.
