United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Fairly rugged bedrock terrain south of Basswood Lake, 15 miles northeast of Ely; along a small creek connecting Wind Lake to Wind Bay; where the portage trail crosses the creek.

Habitat:
Local in a tiny riparian meadow. Infrequent in wet, very rocky, and shallow mucky substrate. Partial shade of Fraxinus nigra and Abies balsamea in the adjacent strip of wet forest.

Associates include Carex stipata, C. pseudocyperus, C. crawfordii, C. retrorsa, C. bebbii, Glyceria striata, Alopecurus aequalis, Agrostis scabra, Juncus brevicaudatus, Eupatorium rugosum, Lysimachia terrestris, Mimulus ringens, Scutellaria lateriflora, Lycopus americanus.
