Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Rolling bedrock terrain on the northeast side of Wind Lake, 17 miles northeast of Ely.

Verbatim Elevation: 1350 feet
Habitat: Full sun to partial shade of Picea glauca, Betula papyrifera, and Alnus incana. Loose patch in ~1/4-acre area dominated by Calamagrostis canadensis. Several dozen vertical shoots in a mesic ecotonal zone recovering from past inundation. Amongst scattered small boulders in rocky, silty-organic soil with thick thatch.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Lycopodium lagopus, Huperzia selago, Diphasiastrum complanatum, Athyrium angustum, Polygala paucifolia, Solidago canadensis, Rubus strigosus.
