Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Rolling bedrock terrain northeast of Wind Lake, 18 miles northeast of Ely; along a small drainage ~1/3-mile from the lake.

Elevation: 413 meters Verbatim Elevation: 1355 feet

Habitat: Local on a subtle ~1/4-acre rise in an old beaver meadow, along a small drainage ~1/3-mile from the lake. Mesic, rocky, loamy soil, ~2 feet above the wetland. Full sun to partial shade of young Picea glauca, in a savanna-like setting. Small, loose patch here. Meadow is recovering from past flooding; large dam was breached prior to 1991.

Associated Taxa: Associates include Lactuca biennis, L. canadensis, Viola novae-angliae, Rubus pubescens, R. strigosus, Potentilla norvegica, Botrychium multifidum, Agrostis scabra, Calamagrostis canadensis.
