Habitat:
Local on a subtle ~1/4-acre rise in an old beaver meadow, along a small drainage ~1/3-mile from the lake. Mesic, rocky, loamy soil, ~2 feet above the wetland. Full sun to partial shade of young Picea glauca, in a savanna-like setting. Small, loose patch here. Meadow is recovering from past flooding; large dam was breached prior to 1991.
Associated Species:
Associates include Lactuca biennis, L. canadensis, Viola novae-angliae, Rubus pubescens, R. strigosus, Potentilla norvegica, Botrychium multifidum, Agrostis scabra, Calamagrostis canadensis.
