Local. Loose colony of hundreds of plants in ~250 square foot area on the margin of an old beaver meadow; wet-mesic setting dominated by Calamagrostis canadensis. Meadow is recovering from past flooding; dam was last breached prior to 1991. Shallow loamy-organic layer over moist clay. Full sun.
